Welcome to our world championships website.

This is the 8th time that Tae Kwon Do International has hosted this open championships. We expect this to be the largest tae kwon do world championships ever held.

For the first time ever:
- Coloured belt divisions
- 8 WTF sparring divisions for men
- 4 WTF sparring divisions for women
- A tag team event.

We will be running 23 areas over 2 days, the venue is the prestigious NATIONAL INDOOR ARENA in Birmingham, which has a 15,000 seating capacity.

At the last world championships in Cardiff in 2005, there were 36 countries taking part. This time we are expecting over 40 countries to take part from all continents globally.

On the Sunday evening at the end of the championships we will be holding a spectacular world champs disco party in the Indoor Arena itself. This is not to be missed.
