Extra BTC Instructor day

 


BTC Instructor day 2nd September 2017

Due to space availability, we have some places available on the first part of the BTC Instructor day. This is open to TAGB / BTC students.Due to the content and space we are putting an age limit of 13 years and above.

“Practical applications of Taekwondo specific exercises”.This will be delivered by Sarah Scott the TAGB national team physio who is a registered Musculoskeletal physiotherapist who has worked with elite sports since 1998. She has listened to the comments from the first BTC day and has produced an appropriate workshop. It will be a theory and practical session, all you will need is loose fitting clothes and a note pad.This workshop will be around 2 hours in length.The cost for the workshop will be £15 payable on the day by cheque payable to BTC or cash.Applications will be done on a first come basis but we only have 25 places available.Email date and time are proof of application.BTC Information that will be needed on the application and needs to be applied for in the order below.

The 13-year olds do have the First aid workshop they can attend if they wish. We have a few spaces available.Request it in your email.
For those not able to attend the workshops in the afternoon National Squad training we be on in the sports hall 13.00-15.30.
Normal squad requirements apply.

Due to the success of the first BTC instructor day and the request for more we have the information for the day.

The course is only open to BTC instructors and assistants who are current members only.

If you missed the first BTC instructor day you will not be at disadvantage.

BTC has listened to the request for more information on the latest exercises, warming up and stretching plus other appropriate workshops. The first part of the day will be headed,Practical applications of Taekwondo specific exercises”. This will be delivered by Sarah Scott a registered Musculoskeletal physiotherapist who has worked with elite sports since 1998. She has listened to the comments from the first BTC day and has produced an appropriate workshop. It will be a theory and practical session, all you will need is loose fitting clothes and a note pad. This workshop will be around 2 hours

The other workshops come with a BTC qualification or a UK Coaching certification. Each workshop lasts around 3- 3 ½ hours approx. Applicants can attend the Practical applications of Taekwondo specific exercises plus one other workshop.

The cost for the day will be £35 payable on the day by cheque payable to BTC or cash. Applicants must put in order which workshop preference they have as their first may not be available. The day is open to BTC instructors and assistants who must be current members. Other workshops available are.

BTC First aid course. 13 years + *Suitable for the BTC qualification to instruct or assist. It is the emergency at work course with extra modules relevant to Taekwondo injuries sustained while training.

Time to Listen course (16 years+ only)

*How a club welfare officer works with others to create a child centred environment. *Explain how the club welfare officer role fits into the wider safeguarding environment. *Apply learning to case studies including sharing good safeguarding practise. *Identify and recognise good coaching practise and the implications for your coaching.

Equity in your coaching. (13 years +)

*The definition of sports equity and why it is important. *How to identify and deal with any barriers faced by participants. *The appropriate language and terminology. *Develop your existing skills and experience to make your sessions more accessible. *How to become more equitable.

The proposed running order is.

09.30 Welcome and explanation of the day. 
09.45 Practical Applications of Taekwondo specific exercise. 
11.45 Closing Q and A 
12.00 Lunch (Not provided by BTC we do not have confirmation if the snack bar will be open. Bring a snack and drink)
13.00 Choice of workshop. First aid or Time to listen or Equity. 
16.30 Finnish 

* If demand is high we may have some applicants do the workshops first in the morning then the Practical applications in the afternoon. Times will be adjusted to suit the day.

This is to Allow the squad to get over and injuries sustained while at the European Championships in Poland.
